Invest in Local Small Businesses

^

Invest directly into the local stores 🛍, restaurants 🍽, businesses 🏢 that you already love.

Starting at as little as $100.

In the past, small businesses were limited with whom they could raise capital from, and often had to take on loans from banks to get funding.  The public and their communities of supporters were not able to invest in them or own a piece unless the business was a Co-op.

Finally that has changed.  With Equivesto, local small businesses can now allow their communities, customers, and network to directly invest in them via equity crowdfunding.

Now you can invest directly into local businesses you appreciate, so that you can both share in their success and growth.  Take buy local to the next level, and invest local as well.

Take advantage of Equivesto’s Exempt Market Dealer license, Due Diligence Process (Know your Product) on all listed companies, and simplified online investment process – all provided at no cost to investors.

What are Small Businesses?

Small businesses are companies operating locally in any given town, city or country and are often considered the ‘backbone of the economy’.  Small businesses are often owner-operated, though they may also have other employees.  Small businesses typically have either one, or a few number of physical locations and are not large chains.

Small businesses typically are focused on providing core products or services to their local population, and do not plan to scale rapidly and seek international or global clients.

Some examples of small businesses are restaurants, bars, wineries, breweries, boutique clothing stores, and other local businesses that are not part of large chains.

When should I expect Returns from my Small Business Investment?

Small businesses are focused on returning profits to their investors and establishing themselves in their local economy.  Most small businesses are not looking to be bought by larger companies or to go public on a stock market in the future.  Investors in small businesses often expect their future returns to be paid in the form of dividends, a split of the profits of the company paid out to investors.

Investors in small businesses should not expect returns in the short or medium term, and should not expect to easily sell their investment.  Each small business is different.  Read the details and future plans of each small business listed on Equivesto on their campaign page to get a better idea of when you might expect returns.
