Depending on the type of exemption you use, your investor requirements may change. In most cases, you can only raise capital from investors who meet the following requirements for your Venture Fund: Canadian resident, above the age of 18, and verified as Self-Certified or Accredited Investors.

The minimum raise on Equivesto is $100,000. There is no maximum.

While investment minimums on Equivesto can go as low as $100, we always suggest issuers set minimums relative to the size of round they are hoping to raise. In most cases, minimums set to $5,000, $10,000, $25,000, or $50,000 makes sense for Venture Fund rounds. Ultimately, it is up to you as the issuer.

While there is built in messaging on the Equivesto portal, we always encourage our issuers to create personalized messaging to their investors directly on a regular basis.

Yes, once you raise capital for your fund, you can also use the Equivesto platform as a fund to make underlying investments. Equivesto can work with you to complete due diligence, document signing, and move the funds for underlying investments you would like to make. Please reach out to the Equivesto team to discuss your options.

After your first fund, future funds are much easier to launch especially if the investors are already approved in the Equivesto system. We will create you a new fund page where you can direct your investors to login to their Equivesto Accounts and sign a new subscription agreement. Raising for additional funds can also be easier since investors will have seen investments you have previously made and your track record of success.
